Our 8th Annual Dog Days of Summer event is almost here – meet a few local Canine Crusaders!
Join us for our 8th annual Dog Days of Summer event, August 11-13 at all five locations for raffles, giveaways, obstacle courses in addition to meeting local animal rescue organizations!
The nonprofit organizations below have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of dogs all over the Sacramento Area. So, if you’re in the market for adoption, or just looking to support some local dog heroes, join us for a doggone good time.
4 R Friends provides lifesaving medical care to pets who would otherwise be euthanized at local shelters. They place them in foster homes and give them social skills to thrive in their forever-homes. They also administer life saving vaccines, collars and tags to under-served communities, keeping pets healthy and happy with their families. Stop by their booth to meet a few lovable pups up for adoption.
Sacramento – Saturday 8/12 8am-5pm
Since 1975, this national nonprofit organization has worked their tails off to improve the lives of people with disabilities, by providing them with trained service animals. The Gold Rush Chapter will be joining us on Saturday to show off the highly-trained service dogs they provide to those in need, free of charge.
Folsom – Saturday 8/12 10am-2pm
The City of Elk Grove’s Animal Services department provides field coverage seven days a week to help stray, neglected and abused animals. They educate about responsible pet ownership and reduce animal overpopulation. As an added bonus, they will be offering free microchipping at their booth during the event!
Elk Grove – Saturday 8/12 & Sunday 8/13 9am-2pm
NorCal Cocker Rescue saves Cocker Spaniels from being euthanized at shelters all over Northern California. Meet lovable dogs available for adoption, and grab some volunteer information.
Folsom – Saturday 8/12 11am-2pm
Located in Carmichael, this rescue nonprofit tackles the immense task of providing medical care and fostering to older dogs. Because they have dozens of successful adoptions under their belt, Old Dogs New Tricks shows us that it’s never too late to find your forever home.
Roseville – Saturday 8/12 10am-3pm
This rescue organization, located in Lincoln, has a mission: to find loving homes for every animal in their care, saving them from euthanasia. And, with over one thousand dogs saved so far, we think they’re doing a fantastic job.
Rocklin – Saturday 8/12 10am-4pm
Founded in 1973, Placer SPCA is one of the largest nonprofit animal organizations in the area. And, they play a very active role in enhancing the lives of animals in our community. Their mission is to find homes for every adoptable animal, to make sure lost animals are reunited with their owners, and to provide affordable spay and neuter services.
Roseville 8/11, Saturday 8/12 & Sunday 8/13 11am-2pm
The Rocklin PD Animal Services department is always working hard to protect the health, safety and welfare of animals and people in the City of Rocklin. They provide humane sheltering to stray dogs, licensing services and community outreach. Stop by on Saturday to get tips on keeping dogs safe in the summer months.
Rocklin – Saturday 8/12 9am-2pm
SIAR is a nonprofit animal rescue whose focus is to aid stray, abandoned and neglected animals. Once healthy, their mission is to place these animals in loving, responsible homes. Buy a shaved ice treat from Snowie King at our Roseville location on Friday 8/11 & or our Folsom location on Sunday 8/13 and 20% of your purchase will be donated to help Sacramento Independent Animal Rescuers!
Rocklin – Saturday 8/12 10am-2pm
Sac County Animal Services is one of the many municipalities in the Sacramento Area dedicated to shelter stray animals and find homes for them. With hundreds of animals up for adoption, it’s easy to see why they’re such strong advocates of the #AdoptDontShop movement! Stop by on Friday to get info about local animals looking for love.
Sacramento – Friday 8/11 9am-2pm
The Sacramento SPCA is here to foster a loving and compassionate community for animals and people by providing assistance, creating lifelong relationships and saving lives. Certainly, you’ll fall in love with dogs available for adoption, and besides that, you’ll learn about the programs provided by the shelter.
Sacramento – Saturday 8/12 9am-2pm
Do you have a soft spot for big dogs? Then maybe True Love Rescue has a pet for you. They are a nonprofit organization located in Northern California that specializes in rescuing stray, large breed dogs from Taiwan. Most importantly, they find forever homes here for them. Visit Elk Grove on Saturday to fall in love with some of their adoptable dogs, or just snag a smooch from the doggie kissing booth!
Elk Grove – Sunday 8/13 11am-3pm
